Platte County Jury Information

Overview
Jurors are selected at random by State Voter registration and Department of Revenue records. Summons are mailed out approximately three weeks prior to the date jurors are required to report for service.

Jurors typically complete their service in two to three days. Occasionally, some jury trials may last up to two weeks. In order to minimize the amount of time jurors’ lives are disrupted, jurors are instructed to call an automated message line the night before their report date to confirm that there have been no changes in their reporting instructions. Sometimes the Court cancels all or part of the jurors it has summoned and jurors can determine this by following the call-in instructions.

The Summons
You are required to respond to your summons by completing an online questionnaire within 10 days at: www.courts.mo.gov/ejuror/
*If you do not have internet access and are unable to complete the online questionnaire, please contact the jury office at (816) 858-5287

Verifying Report date
Call the automated message line after 5:00 p.m. the evening before you are to report. A recorded message will announce reporting instructions. There are separate phone numbers to call for different reporting times on the same business date.

Message Line: 816-464-8171 (8:30 AM) or 816-464-1013 (9:30 AM)
